Ortho Consulting Group recently completed a project to find an International Product Manager for a medical device technology company. Working to a tight timeline, this was a newly created role reporting to an International Marketing Manager.
The International Product Manager would take responsibility for a multi-million-dollar portfolio in the chosen geography and involved working with direct markets as well as distributors. Our client needed someone who had the capabilities of developing strategies in China and Latin America for future product launches.
For this search, we needed to find someone who would focus on downstream marketing activities, across an extensive product portfolio in a price-sensitive and competitive market. One of the core functions of the role was in product rationalisation, needing someone with the ability to make some tough strategic decisions concerning product lines.
This was a fantastic opportunity for an experienced medical device product manager to support multiple countries with the materials and tools required to succeed and develop excellent skills in product life cycle management.
Working closely with our client to understand and manage the brief, we presented four candidates to our client. All met the requirements of the role specification and underwent rigorous interviews with Ortho Consulting Group before being introduced to the client. By carefully managing the process from start to finish, we successfully found the right person, and we wish them well in their future role.
