Our client is an award-winning, UK based private-equity backed medical device company who manufacture and distribute internationally a complete range of solutions to manage health issues related to compromised movement.

Due to ambitious plans to grow further through acquisition, a new role of Corporate Development and Mergers and Acquisitions Director had been created.

Reporting to the CEO, this retained search was business-critical, and a tight deadline for a start-date was required.

Our brief was to identify and source an exceptional candidate with acquisition experience from origination to integration within the medical device industry, ideally with a corporate finance background.

Objective

 

 

To identify and place a CDM&A Director to drive a buy and build growth strategy for an award-winning, high-performing medical device company.

Solution

We created a job description and person specification to define the role based on candidate profile requirements identified by the client.

Internally we completed screening interviews, obtained deal lists, presented candidate profiles and coordinated interviews.

We delivered a candidate profile that matched the brief, who completed several rounds of interviews with the executive leaders and the investment firm, resulting in a successful placement.

Results

Provided a detailed overview of six target companies with a background in corporate finance with healthcare expertise and mapped potential candidates in the defined territory.

Completed a targeted candidate head-hunt campaign based on defined criteria to create a shortlist of forty-eight candidates.

We also identified candidate profiles with experience in both the medical device industry and corporate finance, as cross-industry experience would be preferential.
