ESSKA (European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery, and Arthroscopy) brings together orthopaedic surgeons, clinicians and scientists in Europe, along with their various societies.
After a successful first edition in Madrid in 2019, the ESSKA speciality days are making a return with two days of scientific exchange and networking with four scientific programmes. The speciality days include four associations discussing a variety of topics.
AFAS (Ankle and Foot Associates) brings together the key figures in sports-related ankle and foot pathology, with a special focus on arthroscopy. Their focus on the speciality day will be instability in the athlete’s foot and ankle beyond the lateral ligaments.
EKA (European Knee Associates) brings together the opinion-leaders in the treatment of degenerative knee. Their focus on the speciality day will be robotics, AI and digital tools in knee surgery.
ESA (European Shoulder Associates) brings together shoulder surgeons. Their focus on the speciality day will be innovations in cuff repair from mechanical to biological augmentation.
ESMA & EHPA (European Sports Medicine Associates & European Hip Preservation Associates) aim to create a European pool of expertise focusing on the healthcare of athletes and hip pathology. Their focus on the speciality day will be groin pain in athletes.
