16 May Ortho Consulting Group and Osteotec announce corporate charity beneficiaries for 2022
Ortho Consulting Group (OCG) and Osteotec are delighted to announce our first-ever charity beneficiaries with three very deserving organisations chosen for 2022.
The Chris Donovan Trust, Mind and the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) were collectively selected by our staff members through a vote and will now receive our dedicated backing over the coming months through a series of fundraising activities.
OCG and Osteotec have joined forces with the target of raising £15,000 or more over the coming months, which will be split among the three organisations.
“We’re delighted to be supporting these charities and excited by the events we are planning this year,” said OCG Founder Matt Woods.
“We are hoping that over the next year, with the support of our employees and the generosity of clients, friends and families we can raise a large sum of money that has an impact both locally and in the global orthopaedic community.
“Following two years of many challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it is more important than ever that we give back to organisations that continue to make a huge difference in people’s lives.”
The Chris Donovan Trust is a non-profit charitable organisation set up by Ray and Vi Donovan MBEs in 2001 after the tragic loss of their son Chris in an unprovoked attack. Using their own devastating experience, they educate people about the impact of crime on victims, their families and the wider community by sharing their story with school pupils, university students and offenders.
The BSSH promotes and directs the development of hand surgery in the UK, coordinating education, study and research and disseminating knowledge among members of the medical and allied health profession. The BSSH has been supporting members performing voluntary work overseas in low to middle income countries since 2010 and currently has missions in ten countries including Malawi.
Mind is a mental health charity that provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem, campaigning to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. This is delivered through their confidential Infoline, Legal Line and award-winning information as well as their network of 125 local Minds across England and Wales offering specialised support and care.
“Everyone at the Christ Donovan Trust (CDT) cannot thank OCG and Osteotec enough for making the CDT one of their chosen charities for 2022,” said Ray and Vi Donovan.
“We are in the process of putting together a victim awareness and restorative justice course to be used in schools. This will be part of Christopher’s legacy in making young people see the result of the wrong choices they make.
“The money OCG will be making for our trust will go a long way to helping this project get off the ground.”
