Fuse to Utilize OPM’s OsteoFab® Technology for Development of Unique 3D Printed PEKK Product Lines
SOUTH WINDSOR, CONN. (PRWEB) JULY 05, 2022)
Oxford Performance Materials, Inc. (OPM), an industry leader in advanced polymer science and 3D printed orthopedic devices, announced today an agreement with Fuse Medical, Inc. (Fuse) a manufacturer and distributor of innovative medical devices, to develop new, world-class spinal, extremity and sports medicine implant product lines utilizing OPM’s patented OsteoFab® PEKK technology.
The agreement between the companies enables Fuse to develop new cervical and lumbar spinal interbodies, soft tissue fixation devices for sports medicine, and other foot and ankle implants featuring OPM’s proprietary 3D printing IP, delivering a proven set of clinical benefits to the surgeon that are unique to the OsteoFab technology: bone like mechanics, bone ongrowth, radiolucency, and antibacterial + antiviral properties, all produced with OPM’s (metal and metallosis-free) OXPEKK® material formulation. Fuse will be Original Equipment Manufacturer of the new product lines, which OPM will exclusively contract manufacture.
“As OPM focuses on providing advanced implantable polymers and contract manufacturing services, we look to work with industry leaders that are dedicated to innovative solutions that drive medical device technology forward in ways that reduce system costs and improve patient outcomes,” said OPM founder & CEO Scott DeFelice. “Fuse clearly fits this mold, and we are extremely pleased to be making this important partnership announcement.”
Fuse CEO Chris Reeg commented, “This new collaboration with OPM continues our mission to develop unique, differentiated products and technologies with breakout potential. Over the past year, Fuse has developed a deep scientific understanding of OPM’s OsteoFab PEKK technology, and our team is extremely excited about developing new product lines in spine, sports medicine, and foot and ankle that feature OsteoFab’s unique set of clinical benefits.”
